What has happened to their customer service recently? Bloody terrible, this is the first time I have had need for their help in three years. They seem to employ 14yr olds who simply dont understand what I need and managers who just say Yes and then dont do what they promise. Fuming! £300 year for "peace of mind" through their Platinum Charge Card Scheme, that they are not going to get again!

Four weeks now to repay a hire car excess on their own insurance. Feckers! Glad it wasnt a real emergency!

Rant over.

I'm with you there, it really has gone down hill.

I moved jobs recently and had a corporate AMEX card which i was told was my resposnibility for cancelling. I duely did this over the phone.

move forward a year and I received "my new corporate AMEX card". OK, might be a mistake so i call and tell them I'm no longer with the company (and haven't been for over a year since I cancelled the card) and please make sure you cancel the card this time. "Ok, no probs was the response".

Two weeks later, what do i get? You guessed it, a new fecking replacement corporate AMEX card !

Ahhhhhhh !

And yes, if they phone me again asking me to sign up to their card protection scheme I'm going to cancel my personal AMEX card as well.
