Ridiculous.
Over the festive period, i bought some stuff off of ebay, off people with good feedback, looked trustworthy.
3 out of 5 of the items have not turned up and I cant get in touch with the sellers. Bit I dont understand, as I paid via paypal and I will be opening a dispute and getting my money back as there is no chance they can supply a tracking number etc?
I keep saying I will never use ebay again but always get sucked in after a few drinks.
I sold 7 things in the early days, before I realised, literally going back a few years - 4 of them ended up claiming no delivery and getting money back from paypal even though I definitely sent them, albeit 1st class but not recorded. I had proof of postage but they dont accept it.
Basically, buy what you like off ebay, pay using paypal and claim it didnt arrive. If they didnt send it recorded you get your money back AND the goods - easy. Never using ebay again.
In fact, go one step further, sell something expensive, send the buyer a brick recorded delivery. You then have proof of delivery. Paypal decide in your favour and who is to know what was in the package?

For balance I've never had a major problem with ebay/Paypal.

He opened a dispute via Paypal and "won" the dispute claiming it hadn't been signed for by him therefore he hadn't received it. Paypal issued him a refund for the full amount.

Thats a good point. How could eBay find against you if you have proof of postage, you simply say that the buyer is the conman because he has recieved the item and then claimed it was a brick. I'm suprised I havn't heard of this happening actually, interesting to see how eBay would handle it. In fact, go one step further, sell something expensive, send the buyer a brick recorded delivery. I only sell items as "buyer collect only" "cash on collection" now. If they want it they have to come and get it and hand over the cash.
Seems to have weeded out the scammers, you usually get the odd Nigerian asking if I will post it, if you refuse and add the question to the listing the scammers usually stop.
Not really practical with small items and may not make as good a price but saves loads of messing about.

I'm still waiting for stuff to arrive that was bought, paid for and shipped between Xmas and NY. The sellers have sent me the recorded delivery tracking numbers and RM just shows as "Come back later"

That's easily sorted, change the card details to the debit card associated to the account you normally use, i set mine up from day one like this.Ive been using it for about 6 years now & over that time I've only had problems with 2 people

2nd one, I sent the item, the said it wasnt as described and claimed their money back via paypal - it was only a keyboard and mouse! Totally out of order really but I cover every angle from a selling point of view - I get proof of postage with everything and describe any faults & marks with all my items so there can be no come back!

Had that a few times, but you can quite easily spot suspicious bidding on the history. Usually another bidder bids up in small increments until they find your highest bid, then bomb out. I then wait until near the auction end & withdraw my bid!Me cynical!!

Reckon it made less than he-d hoped and that it will all fizzle out if he ignores it long enough,

I rememeber the first time I recieved negative feedback from a buyer. I had 100% feedback on over thousand sales, so was perplexed to see a red slodge turn up from a buyer. His comment just made my day though....
"Made a mistake and didnt really want to buy this item".
He hadnt even paid for it, just went straight to negative feedback.
I would literally have kicked him to death at the time if I could have got hold of him!!! What a dick.
Dont use ebay anymore, as its a ripoff.
