best iphone (or non apple equivalnet deals) mobile contract

Just starting to look around for the best deals I do want an iphone for to replace my current handset however was wondering what the competition is like do blackburry or similar have competitors out yet and is the battery life any good?

I heard that iphone battery life is very very poor - but on the upside internet is free? and you get google earth free? Memory to store thousands of albums

Don't think internet is free - just need to make sure you have a limitless limit to interent access in your contract.

Battery life can be quiet poor under heavy use, 3G is indeed free with unlimited use, and you also get free wifi via various wifi providers (all you do is login with your mobile number and it will auto-connect next time).

Yes you get Google Earth free, as with tons of other apps in the app store, and it has Google Maps with GPS and with street view since the last update.

iPhone calling plans have unlimited WiFi (at Cloud networks) and unlimited data download. (Fair Use Policy applies, I guess...).

iPhone on contract has free data (internet). I'm sure there's a fair use policy, but I've not hit it.

I had the choice of it or the Iphone, didnt like the iphone as its 100% touch screen, texting is stupidly annoying with a touch screen.
Iphone is overated!
+ it's completely pointless if you have an ipod already!

I have an iPhone 3g - be carefull if you use the data roaming abroad...an £800 phone bill highlighted that internet is only free in UK...

I find it easier than with a multitap keyboard - and the autocorrect function is excellent.

I have to say I was skeptical about the whole touchscreen thing, every one I had used before was ste. The iPhone's touch screen is remarkable though, very responsive and quick. Plus it has text auto-correction which I've found very useful.

Yeah i found it difficult to start with, specially with my fat fingers. Once i'd got used to it it's great, really quick and as you said the auto-correct works great if you make any mistakes

As for the internet abroad guy, doesn't it warn you when you turn roaming on? To use it abroad you have to turn it on I think - and it says to turn it/keep it off to 'avoid substantial roaming charges when using email, web browsing, and other data services'
Did you have to pay it all in the end? Heard of some guy that had a bill of something like 15k for downloading tv progs when he was on holiday!! Think they came to some agreement in the end though

A lot of my friends are deliverating over the Iphone / Google Phone / Blackberry.
I got the Google Phone & the majority of my friends are going for the Google phone.
It's just a better phone + T-mobile is 10 x cheaper than rip off 02!
