I'm not wanting a debate on religion vs. science and whilst I believe that religion should be secular from state I also don't want to s
t on people's beliefs. Assuming they don't want any special dispensation (which most religions do unfortunately) I have no problem anyone on an individual level.
Anywho...My question to the religious contingent is..
If you are a Christian/Member of Abrahamic religion do you believe you have "evidence" for your belief like the gentlemen interviewed in the above? If so this means that, by definition, you are not relying on "faith" (the backbone of all religions and the religious trump card). How do you confront this dilemma?
In other words if you have evidence you can't have faith. But if you don't have evidence why would you believe something? Or do religious types have a type of "pseudo-faith"?
Again I really mean no offence and for the love of God (
) please don't let this descend into a religion vs. science thread. I'm genuinely not interested in mocking anyone's belief systems I'm just curious what sort of philosophy/psychology divides us.
