Just read about this event on another forum and will be going; but not sure:

a) where to park
b) Decent place to eat afterwards as taking other half
c) Best place to get a view of the fireworks/light display
c) and any other general advice?

Will be going from Manchester so would it be better to catch a train?

Many Thanks

Multi story on Mount Pleasant street is okay, 5 minute walk into the centre from there. Haven't worked in Liverpool for a while but we used to eat at the City Balti in (I think) North John street

Think that would be your best option. I would imagine it will be very congested tonight.

Places to dine? Best hope is heading straight for China town.

I've been advised not to use that multi-story any more - apparently getting quite bad now.

The Liverpool One car park is secure, but expensive (£2 / hour), but there you also have some good restaurants - Wagamama always a good bet for decent, inexpensive food.

Otherwise parking on the Albert Dock, perhaps?

ETA: The train is probably your best bet, but it will be crowded on the way back.

Many Thanks for replies, Didnt see the replies prior to going as set of early so she could go shopping... did park at Mount Pleasant though (level 4) and was ok and fine (12-22.00 £6) (clifford alarm + Disklok means I know I will have some part of it left to drive home hehe)

The Pier show were good but shorter than I expected ~45 mins, fireworks were great but light show was average, went to the museums around Albert Dock so didn't get a chance to have dinner, had lunch at Kimo in mount pleasant though- chicken pocket was yum!

Left later so no traffic, loved the city though and the people, whilst loving their casual expletives!!, were so wonderful and helpful anywhere we went. Will be visiting often.

Better make sure you have locking wheelnuts on your car if you're doing it regularly wink
