I just heard on the news that this is the coldest winter since...

Wait for it 2001!

Well what a waste of a news story.

So far this week we have had a UFO story, People advertising something doesn't exist.

Also on the breakfast news was the exciting story that Tin Tin is having a birthday, there was a tintinologist to explain too and how WAG's aren't a proper job, no really?!!

When did journalism die?

Now if it had been 1995 and not 2001, Rod Stewart could have written a song about it smile

Snoddy was on the beeb this morning, lots of complaints about the weather as news, particularly when its nothing exceptional, just normal weather.

There was a news item on last night about a childs first birthday, they had a reporter and camera crew out to do a full story. I couldn't work out how this was news? Mrs BG pointed out that it was triplets first birthday, I was still none the wiser confused

Each day there is only so much 'news' going on.

When there are so many digital channels offering 24 hour news, what are they supposed to fill the other 23.5 hours up with?

We need a return to:

Jackanory
Six O'Clock News
Morecambe and Wise
Closedown

And I suspect society might be a lot healthier for it. Bah!

And on a subject very close to a PH'ers heart, grammar etc. The captions and scrolling breaking news on BBC & SKY are often riddled with incorrect spelling, mixed up and muddled words etc. I am almost expecting some text speak to crop up. It's like a chavs first post on PH sometimes. Usually only a minor irritation, but remember when they had 'reefs' being laid on Rememberance Sunday?

I was watching the BBC breakfast news yesterday morning, and they cut from the studio to a recorded piece (about the cold weather); but they had left the studio mikes on - and the female presenter said "Everyone is switching off because the news is all negative"!

So sort it out then irked
