Started at 10pm it's called BBC news.

I couldn't stop laughing as I heard the brilliant line:

"one of the strongest indicators yet that we may be heading into a recession"

And then some garb' about £1.9million boats not selling. Hilarious

I laughed too!

I went into town today - there wasn't many people shopping. WHS was a shambles and Staples were providing nothing short of incompetent customer service and neither had many customers so they get my 'dead in 2009' vote. I was also sad to see the huge Woolies gutted and empty. Sad, very sad. I was in Comet during last week and that too was empty. I think more and more are using the i-net to shop, if at all, at the lowest price.

Just to put things in perspective, I needed a filing cabinet on Friday, searched the web and found Staples to be cheapest. Went down to the Salisbury branch and had excellent customer service, guy even carried it out to the car and helped me load it. Saved £30 on the nearest internet price.

for me it was definitely the staff that let the store down. Being ignored, then waiting in a queue whilst staff mucked about then what I asked for was too difficult (not) and would have to wait over an hour to be served as seemed like customers were a nuisance. I was going to buy other stuff there too because of their prices but just walked out. They are cheaper than internet with retail costs hmmm not a sustainable business model. Unless of course they reduce their costs by staff custs...

It gets better. Today we heard that Brown is going to spend £100,000,000 (that he hasn't got) on jobs (of which there are none).

The recession will just have to be weathered like any other storm, and the sooner they realise it and let it go over, the better we will emerge on the other side. Currently he may as well be building sandcastles to stop the tide coming in...
