Surely he will die at some point?

Or at least cause an incredibly expensive rescue mission to be attempted. And how mind numbing would 500 days at 48km per day be.

The trouble I have with a lot of these 'record attempts' etc is that the main ones have been done. That article mentions that he was the first man to row solo eastbound across the atlantic. Thats getting pretty specific isnt it? Lets face it, that means someone has rowed across the atlantic before him doesnt it.

Pretty soon people will be jumping up and down because theyre the first person to have rowed or sailed around the world anticlockwise in a leap year starting on a Wednesday night whilst eating a KFC bargin bucket.

I applaud his spirit of adventure and wish him well but as far as the first man to row around the antarctic, I hope I can be forgiven for thinking 'so what'.
