With the Credit Crunch, Global Recession and all the other negative stuff that January brings, has anything good happened to anyone lately? Go on, share it with the group!
I'm taking Mrs Monkey to Paris next week and I'm going to propose to her!

Me and my 9 yo lad went to Cheltenham races on new years day (I know jack about horse racing and form etc) as we went last year and it was a cracking day out. First race of the day we placed £5 each way on a nag (Awesome George) that my son liked the name of and it romped home first and netted us £160. Second race of the day we picked a horse then my lad changed his mind and was adament he wanted to pick another called bishop something or the other. That also came in first and netted us £60. Cue much jumping around, high fives and generally acting like crazy fools.
Only problem now is I hope I haven't inadvertently turned the boy into a compulsive gambler later in life!!

+1 for trackdays, got my first of the year booked along with a full day tuition at the end of the month.
Going snowboarding the following week,
Work seems to be going OK,
Got a week in the office so finally getting on top of things.
Just paid off a couple of credit card debts that have been hanging over me for ages.
Diet and Excercise is going well, lost 7lbs and feeling good for it!
Saving a fortune by doing DIY at home instead of getting rat faced all the time.
and best of all
I LOVE the happy elephant!

I didn't check my euro millions ticket, that way I can still dream about what i'd do if I won it, and not lament the fact i'd wasted another £1.50.
