What's a good salary for Switzerland???

What would be a good slaray for living in Baden in Switzerland? I would want something similar to earning £50k here in the UK.

Just how expensive is it to live over there?

It depends massively on what sort of job you are doing and what you want to do? Cost of living is not that much different to the UK once you take everything into account. i.e Taxes and general life quality. I think in comparison you are usually better off in CH.

I'm a Structural Designer and am potentially looking at a position in Baden and was asked what I wanted as a salary so took what I get here and added a bit as a starting point

Not really an area I know particularly well to give you any feedback with regards to salary. This site will however give you some idea on cost of living, expenses and taxes. Will have a chat with an old friend of mine tonight who may have a better idea for your industry.

When I had a proper job in IT (Director) a Swiss systems analyst based in Zurich was paying more in rent alone than I earned GROSS!
