Stroking Lion cubs in the UK

Does anybody know anywhere in the uk where you can get up close with lions? Other Half is obsessed by them, would love to be able to make this happen for valentines day for her?

Thinking about it, I did something similar with a full grown crocodile in the Gambia. Looking back, it probably wasn't the smartest thing I have ever done.

China has a bit of an issue with it's Pandas. Seems the public can't help themselves, and keep trying to hug them. They are usually then torn apart limb from limb. I don't think I'd like to try and hug what is effectively a angry bear with a smart coat on.

i had the pleasure of a lion cub on my lap for about 15 minutes when on holiday in Spain.

Can't quite remember where we had gone, but a talk on rescued lions, and they plonked this cub in my lap out of the way

it's just like an overgrown kitten really, very heavy and purrs alot louder

The zoo in Hertfordshire, just off the M25 near to Essex. Begins with an H.

Allways used to be able to make a donation to charity and go kittyfiddling before they opened in the morning.

A smaller zoo or big cat place might be more open to help - there is a place in Welwyn that does photographic days or you could try Hamerton Zoo in Cambs as they have lots of the smaller big cats(if you know what I mean...)
