I have a 3 contract mobile phone and i cannot get a signal at home or 70% of my general area. The phone was a present and we went past the 14 day return policy before complaining as I actually had not opened it.

I have called 3's useless customer service at least 15 times to complain and just get arrogant asians on the other end of the phone who wont/unable to do anything to help me or just hang up on me when I challange them with technical/ legal questions.

Initally when I complained they sent me a new sim, then a new phone both of which did nothing, then they said that they were improving the coverage in my area within the next few months which has not happened....
So i called them back and told them that the phone was not fit for purpase as i can use the bloody thingmadfurious but they say that I can't cancel the contract unless i pay up £300..

Has anyone else on here had simular problems? Is there anything I can do or speak to so I can get rid of this piss poor phone and 3's crap service level.

I believe the problem has stemmed from 02 not being a part of 3 anymore.

Ted

had a fraud - someone ordered 1 vodafone and 2 3mobile phones in my name (the fact that it was a crime supported by crime reference number):

The vf one was resolved in 2 calls (in one week), 3mobile took 7 months and many many many calls.

As a result, I will never buy anything from them.

(as a side note, someone had used a disposable credit card in my name and linked it with someone elses bank account. 3 mobile gave me the bank details and the name and address of the bank account holder even though they knew it wasn't me! shocking!)

Ever since they stopped using the O2 network when outside of their own the coverage is crap. They now use Orange who I deliberately stayed away from because I knew they don't have coverage around my area.

I have given up trying to talk to the customer service twunts and am now just waiting 'til June when the contract is finished to move back to O2.

Shame really because I have been with 3 for about 4 or 5 years and only in the last year have they become terrible to deal with.

It's not just the call centre either, the arrogant feckers in the shop in Nottingham were far worse than the call centre. After being told by the call centre that i could exchange my knackered phone in any shop I called into the one in Nottingham as I needed a replacement ASAP. I was told that I couldn't do it in the shop. When challenged about this the guy shrugged his shoulders and said 'not my problem mate'. Needless to say the air turned very blue and security were called.

Absolute shower.

I have had no end of problems with 3 for the past year. I had no joy with customer service so went into - wait for it - their Nottingham store. After being 'firm but fair' after I got a load of old flannel, I was told to come back in a week to pick up a spare phone. I tried to explain that work pressures meant that I usually didn't come to town during the week. I did go in, I got a loan phone which was fine. I picked mine up a week later and it was still losing network coverage every five minutes (literally). Same story three times over. Next time I'm in town I'll be demanding a new phone. I cannot wait until my contract expires in August. I'll be going back to Orange. At least I'll get a free cinema ticket every Wednesday.

The '3' shop staff are no better - my wifes phone developed a screen fault they claimed it was due to water damage (having worked in mobile handset devlopment for 10 years, I knew it was not).

The silly bh in the '3' shop told my file that mobile phones are not designed to be used outside and that if you use a mobile outside it can get water damaged even if it does not get wet.....

You would have been covered by distance selling regs if purchased over the internet but pretty sure you have gone past the time allowed.

Yes, just call them up and cancel it - hardly brain surgery. As a penalty, you will be asked to pay your line-rental for the remainder of the contract. It usually works out at about £10-15 a month - If you want out that badly, then it's a small price to pay.

Don't worry about the coverage because they are merging with T Mobile, or Vodaphone (can't remember which) early this year, well that's what they told me when they said it's time to upgrade and I told them I want to cancel.
I then said is the merger going to be like when you told me you were using Orange masts and everything would be OK and then you were installing a new mast 1.5 miles from my house and everything would be OK but the signal is still crap.
BTW, do I have to notify them in some way that I want to cancel at the end of my contract?

The problem is that the call centre staff are lying bds. They sold me a 3 broadband deal at £7.50 PM over the phone and when the first bill came through it was £15, they then denied all knowledge of it. I too had gone past the three day limit and although I managed to get the rental back to £7.50 it has put me off the lying cheating sts forever.

The call centre staff also tried that with me, i cancelled the DD and said see you in court. A nice man from their HO called(who spoke English) and sorted it all out, even got a months rental free.

Where do you live?

I've never gone anywhere in the UK where I haven't been able to receive 3 signal.

I'm on Three. Works great when I'm at work, but feck all reception in the village where I live.

In the same way as the OP, they wont let me cancel without paying. Still, only a few months left till I can tell them where to stick it.

Visit Churchill nr Cheddar, then you'll find a place with no signal, when at my g/f's dads house I may as well turn my phone off for all the use it is.

What the hell do you want them to do?

They gave you 14 days to try it?
