Colour Printing

I have a question for those that know a little about te printing industry,

I am designing a new logo and it looks really good with a light green and a dark green, now my question is, when they ask how many colours it is, does the light and dark green count as one colour, or is it two seperate colours?

Depends how you're having it printed, I think.

If its digital, makes no odds.

If its litho then it will be two seperate colours.

I'd say it's two colours.

I'm not in the printing industry, but I know how they work. All colour print is made up of four channels (CMYK) and each colour is a different combination of those four constituents.

It will most likely be printer using two colours, especially if the logo is printed on it's own and has largish solid areas. If it is small and part of a larger colour print it could be printed using YMCK (Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, Black) which is the standard 4 colour set (process) used to print what you and I would call pictures. Also it depends on the type of printing, but for a simple answer I would say it's a 2 colour print...

Damn, looks like I will keep 1 coulour as lots of processes are cheaper, e.g. printing pens, and other promotional merchandise.
