A friend of mine, just got me hook line and sinker after pretending to be a noise abatement officer. He was calling to demand that we did something about the noise our dogs make, with threat of removal or a large fine. rofl

Anyway, I clearly need to redress the balance. A few years ago there used to be a website that you could bounce e-mails through that changed the address of the sender to whatever you wanted it to be. Does this site (are a similar one) still exist?

My friend, who has just moved back from LA, will be facing a court summons for his motoring offences, with the threat of a jail term if he doesn't present himself for sentencing if it does.

Cheers.

I'd leave it a month or two; revenge is a dish best served convincingly cold.

I'd planned to, but I can't do it if I can't send the faked e-mail - someone must know, this is PH after all.

Its very easy to fake a senders address, but im sure its not to be discussed on PH.

Friend of the family once delighted in his new house with open fireplace. The area was a no-smoke-zone but we knew (from having an open fire ourselves for 15 years) that as long as you kept to the right fuels and only lit from cold in the evening (when it was dark) no-one ever complained.

Anyway, friend starts using the fireplace and within a week gets a call from the council (my Dad) about his disregard for the bylaws and the action we (the council) would be taking. Friend was a genuine "worrier" and no more than a minute after Dad replaced the handset the phone was ringing again, this time the friend calling us in a fluster to tell us what "the council" had told him.

I think Dad managed a straight-face for a minute or two before cracking up. He then expected a similar wind-up for months afterwards but it never came.

Maybe I've lost the will to live, but is that the best you can do ?

I'm in the process of writing it at the mo.

I've changed it slightly. Last time we were over there, he picked us up from the airport, and was almost immediately rear-ended by a cab driver. The e-mail will now be on how the driver is suing my mate for racially abusing him at the scene of the accident, in line with California race discrimination laws. That will get him hopping mad far more than a traffic offence. I can't be done for impersonating a police officer either then.
