I heard on the radio this morning that some bloke who kicks a ball around for a living is being sold for £107million, pictures for £50million and the obscene amounts spent in F1 are bad enough. With all of the crap things happening, economic g&d starving people etc, this is ridiculous

I think the football bubble is about to bust in the Premiership. So many of the clubs have massive debts and crippling wage bills.
These clubs like Man City must be praying the billionaire backers don't get bored or fed up when they don't win the Champions League straight away.

Kaka is a very religious man, and has said that the money matters nothing to him. He just loves to play football. It is AC Milan that are dictating the price for him!
(He has influence too. When there was rioting at the matches he said he would quit football if the violence didn't stop... It did!)

Despite being a complete capitalist and believing that free markets are best this is something that I find a bit much. The worst thing is, if he's anything like half of his colleagues, he'll probably blow most of it on a Van Hoogstraten style mansion and Project Kahn 'upgrades' for his whips.
it will all go wrong for man city and i hope it does. these things take time, fergie joined man u in 86 and won nothing until 1990 and was close to the sack but they kept the faith, well bobby charlton did, now look, he has built three world class teams and is the best manager of the modern generation.
man city could have accepted their status as a solid premiership team, enjoyed the brief flurry into europe every now and then but been finanically stable and had a secure future. instead they have ideas of grandeur way above reality? Champions league in 2011? are they for real, have they not seen the progress made by Villa where o'neill has built a team over time from small change?
i dont want to see a team fail and i dont think that its entirely fair to say they cant have ambition but realistic ambitions please, not ones that are dependant upon the bottomless pockets of a wealthy arab....
to sum it up, they are buying Kaka and likely to follw up htat with the purchase of Craig Bellamy? Bellamy for f**ks sake! those two names just roll of your tongue when discussing the true greats of the football world....that says it all, they want the big names but have to patch up the team with geordie rejects!! sad times for city fans, how i will laugh...

Didn't kaka say it was always his dream to play for Man City? I'm sure I read somewhere he said he couldn't wait leave Italy to meet the orange fake tanned housewives of Wilmslow and Alderly Edge.Perhaps he thinks he's off to play for Manchester and didn't know they had that other team.
