A Christian bus driver has refused to drive a bus with an atheist slogan proclaiming "There's probably no God".
Ron Heather, from Southampton, Hampshire, responded with "shock" and "horror" at the message and walked out of his shift on Saturday in protest.
Good excuse for a day off I suppose.Ron Heather, from Southampton, Hampshire, responded with "shock" and "horror" at the message and walked out of his shift on Saturday in protest.

On what grounds though? If he were actually a practising Christian then he would have forgiven them.http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/hampshi...

Fair play to him for sticking up for his religious views!
How many times have we seen threads on here complaining about other religions kicking off about christian beliefs/traditions.
Hope he gets paid for it and doesnt have to drive a bus with advertising in conflict with his views.
Now if he was a muslim........

I'm a Christian.
The bus driver should get on and do his job.
Just like I'd expect atheist drivers to tootle about town driving buses with ads for the Alpha Course on them.
This is a debate about professionalism. Not religious belief.
I have no sympathy for people who won't do their job.

Cant knock that, if you beleive in something that passionatly why not kick up a fuss.
Because if he believes that strongly that his imaginary friend does exist, why does it matter that some people don't; he's just being a f
king god bothering nuisance for the sake of it!!You didn't see hundreds of thousands of Londoners abandon the tubes due to the religious advertising on them did you!?!?

I don't understand his reaction to be honest. Why is he so offended by that message? "There is probably no god" - if he thinks there is it shouldn't matter that someone thinks there probably isn't. He's just being a small-minded petulant little idiot like most religious types, who seem to think their opinions count more than anyone elses.
He also knows a religious protest like this makes his position absolutely bullet-proof.

What an attention seeking anus that bus driver really is!
Would he have done the same thing, say, if there was and advert for Churchill car insurance and he had his cover with Norwich Union?
No.
Why couldn't he have simply taken an alternative bus from the depot as opposed to all these histrionics?
Flippin' Biblers........

theres perhaps a time and a place for religious messages. Forcing people to drive around/wear/display such things is not the right way IMHO.
Given that the "There's probably no god" adverts were inspired by a Christian advert we can only hope all views/sides on this subject agree. But it's more likely to turn into an "eye for an eye" situation.
