Back in 1989 I used to work for Yoplait in Amiens (France) and I was going out with a girl while I was there.

A few days ago I was going through some old stuff and I came across this long forgotten lump of stone, which used to belong to her...

It's stone (marble?). Obviously there is no way that it's a natural formation and I reckon that it's either the finger or, more likely, the nob off a statue (it's definitely been broken off).

Given the number of people on PH I wonder if anyone knows where it's from, or if there is a way of finding out? Anyone recognise it?

Well, dunno about 'solo' but I used it on her. It's not right long though <checks> 8.5cm to be precise.

I think it is just one of the first vibrators that were available. You must be old.

There used to be a bronze statue outside Grimsby college. The statue was Havelock, a viking (I believe).

He had his appendage hacksawed of on a regular basis.

I expect there isn't a street in Grimsby with at least 1 phalic ornament on the mantlepiece

Well it certainly looks 'used' in a patternated kinda way.

Also it's too grainy to be Metamorphisized oolitic limestone.
