Man dies because of bailiff's actions
Discussion
I'm not fetching the stick based on assumptions. Let's see what the enquiry finds first. My dad died of a heart attack, if it had been in the middle of a blazing row with someone, I would probably be feeling sorry for them. And we don't even know whether there was any aggro anyway. Too many questions before I hang draw & quarter.
So let me get this straight? man fails to pay whatever he owed, so the bailiffs were called... As happens all over the country. Are you guys seriously suggesting that bailiffs should be called of if people have been ill? Sounds like they were giving the guy a chance to actually pay something, rather than have them remove his stuff. I'm sure it was a stressful situation, but I'm afraid far too many sob stories like these could well be avoided if people just pay what they owe.

There are a few around at the moment, like the 'Council kills pensioner' one the other day over refurbishment of a house. When you get past the headline, and read between the lines, find other parts of the story from other news sources, and it is soon apparent that the story is anything but as it's been portrayed.Although to be fair, the link between bailiff induced stress and a heart attack in this story isn't too tenuous a one, compared to some of the others.
But you have to ask, where would the story be if he had died on the way to the cash point anyway, whilst he was out & about, and there were no bailiffs involved at all.

Clear case if corporate manslaughter.
The magistrates who authorised this need to be brought to justice....and the bailiff
How the hell do you get to that conclusion? If I died in a crash on the way to the ATM as I was late with my energy bill, would the energy company be liable? The magistrates who authorised this need to be brought to justice....and the bailiff

Did anyone else think 'Feck me, he looked like Jack Straw?'

Also thought it was bloody typical that when you're trying to get baliffs to do something about a crook who deserves a swift MI they're all softly-softly, but with an old boy who's a bit behind on his bills they're suddenlly hardcore. b
