Buy, buy, buy, bye bye.

I see though it's lowest was 98 so it's not gone lower than that yet.

Goodbye. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

I reckon that the gubberment is going to forcibly take a stake in them, and investors are running a mile.

Why not make Barclays the 'bad bank'?

The ban on short-selling has been lifted hasn't it? Wonder if that's driving this?

Not being funny here but should I get the little bit of money I have in Barclays out?

If it's less than the guarantee then don't bother.

Gubberment doesn't like them reminaing independent. Gubberement wants to nationalise ALL the banks so they have absolute control. Like the Nazis.

RBS have tanked too...

sorry to sound pleased, i'm getting annoyed my a few smug mates with RBS shares

And I had to turn the telly off yesterday after listening to the boring, smug muppet that is the CEO of Barclays telling the interviewer how he would run the economy.

Unbelievable, some of these people.

I think it's been my lack of news watching, not it's quietness.

I've been slack at keeping up this week.

At least the taxpayer doesn't have shares in Barclays (yet).

"Banking giant loses over 15% of market cap in final hour of trading following lift on short-selling ban"

So how long before short-selling is banned again?

you sure short selling has anything to do with it.... the figures will always fluctuate, the only thing that banning short selling did was to mean everyone got out of those particular shares they were short selling and thus the stock went into free fall.

It was supposed to be reinstated sometime this month, but i havent heard anything yet on the subject.

If they should ban anything it should be naked short selling...

Yes, but the catalyst was news that large write downs expected in relation to corporate CDOs (of which Barc and RBS do lots)
