Your thoughts...!
I sub-contract for a builder mate and he told me a funny story this week..!
One of his workmen was doing some council work in an asian's house last week. This involved floor tiling, so the guy was on his hands and knees busy working away.
He received a slap on his back by the youngest asian son aged 8 followed by this comment,
"when are you going to start respecting us muslims" and then "you should be on your knees praying to allah"
coming from an 8 year olds mouth....!!!!Wonder where he heard that comment to repeat...!?
Anyway the workman collected up his tools and left, refuses to go back and I don't blame him.
He says he wants a public apology...

Council meeting was today but haven't spoken to mate to see what the outcome was.

I'm not sure about a public apology - a bit OTT
That said, it begs the question where an 8 year old gets that kind of banter from.
I'm sure it would be the same if a Muslim workman went into a BNP home.
Having been previously married to an Asian, prejudice goes both ways. Whether it’s right or wrong, it’s a fact of life.

Boy, never would have said anything like that when I was a kid. His parents need to start teaching him properly! He can only soak in what the parents/ elder relatives say. My parents always went by the whole 'respect your elders no matter who they are' phrase. Wonder what bush they are from? Hope it's not near mine.

Good grief! They're tiling council kitchen floors now - what is wrong with good old fashioned sawdust?
NO.... how about a full 32K extension including new kitchen and ALL appliances plus a new shower room downstairs.
Done because the eldest woman in the house who is not of British origin can't walk unaided...

The only time I've heard the word "paki" used on the streets of Luton in a racist way was from the mouth of an Indian. That said, it begs the question where an 8 year old gets that kind of banter from.
