Sunday afternoon Shoppers - Trolley rage
Discussion
I went with the kids to the local supermarket this afternoon, and it was god-awful busy at about 3.30. The kids [2 1/2and 15 months] were in the trolley and I was pushing them down the middle aisle, with shoppers with trolleys either side of me but just behind me, and other shoppers were coming out of the adjacent aisles. I went down an aisle as someone was coming out of it, and they blocked the man walking just behind me and to the left. I leant forward and spoke to the kids and asked if they wanted their hats off as we were inside now. All of a sudden I heard shouting and swearing from behind me; thinking it was for someone else I carried on. All of a sudden a trolley barged into mine, jolting the kids. I turned round and this mad man [approx 40+] was shouting at me "call me a t
t, you little s
t? I can take you know you little t
t". All this in earshot of my kids. I said to him he must have thought I said t
t when I actually said hat to the kids, but he was having none of it. A few more 'choice' words off him and some intimidating gestures and he stormed off. [If only the kids weren't there, he would have gotten a few choice words back and possibly more]
Throughout the rest of the shop this idiot was stalking me I swear, as wherever I went he was either behind me or looking down the aisle I was in, still looking like he was going to lamp someone. I carried on, went to the farthest away til to keep out of his way and left the store.
On leaving the car park he was in the car next to me at the traffic lights, revving his engine and turning his steering wheel towards my car and 'waving' at me, which I ignored. As soon as the lights were green, I was off and made it past a few cars before the road narrowed from a 2 lane carriageway to a normal B road, leaving him a fair few cars behind. After a while he turned off, and thankfully that was the last I saw of him.
So, do you think he was on his period, on drugs, had too much caffeine or had a bag of 'E' numbered sweets before he went shopping?

...you could not drag me a supermarket at that time of day on a Sunday....and with nippers in tow.....not in a zillion years.
...hope it hasn't spoilt your day too much......
I normally avoid that shop like the plague on a Sunday; we were short on custard for the kids pudding though.......hope it hasn't spoilt your day too much......

I hope your kiddies were not in the load carrying area of the trolley?
Dirty shoes and food should not share the same resting place.
They were in the designated kids area of the trolley Dirty shoes and food should not share the same resting place.

Even if you had called him a tw*t, doesn't call for a reaction like that. Must be a few sandwiches short of a picnic.
He was down the wrong aisle for sandwiches
I always wonder. They say the loud ones try to intimidate because really they are not very good... you know the bark vs bite saying. What would have happened if you whispered into his ear, "Would you like to step outside?" If he had intended to do something he would have already hit you or rammed your car.
