Why dont the government.......
Discussion
Why dont the government start treating this recession as a national emergency and start cutting back?
i.e. cut back on benefits, on gaza, on iraq, on the olympics, and start using taxpayers money to help those who actually pay / paid tax?
I want my tax to be spent on building a better Britain, not to fund the social lives of a million others who cant be bothered working but want a big lifestyle!

100% of the income tax collected, thats all of it, the lot, the whole kit and caboodle, nine yards, shebang and every last penny of income tax collected in the UK goes on one thing and one thing alone.
Benefits.
EVERYTHING else, education, defence, the entire civil service and all their ludicrous benefits and Brown's preposterous borrowing in order for him to try to achieve the impossible come out of indirect taxation.
In short, dont expect a tax cut soon, he's painted himself into a corner.

Public Sector pay cuts!!
cutting police / ambulance / firemen pay.. yeah great idea!!!although putting a stop to this health and safety brigade wasting money would be amazing...
they are making my company buy us 'bump hats', new ladders, harness's for anything over 3 steps and tabbards for inside a hanger... what a waste of money...

Write to your MP. It's the only way you'll make your voice heard.
Kill your MP, it's the most effective way of bringing about significant political changes.www.writetothem.com
It takes a minute to fire off an email to your local MP. Mine usually replies. I'll let you know if I get a reply from mine.

The private sector effectively supports the public sector as the public sector don't generate any revenue (so we're led to believe), yet the private sector is a shrinking entity at the moment. They are going to HAVE to make public sector redundancies soon.

Everyone needs to faceup to the fact that we all need to take hits here - including the public sector.

I'm glad that my council tax has just gone up, thats really helping me out alot at the moment. But the Scots dont get any raise in tax........
I looked through a few of the bigger raises and they appeared to be the most significant losers in Icelandic banks. I havent researched enough to make it stick, so I'm sure thats coincidental and that the money they invested was long term pension fundsGassing Station | The Pie & Piston Archive | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
