Agreed. How can 6-9 years be adequate punishment in anyone's eyes? (especially if they're let out after 5)

I can feel the anger rising from the pit of my stomach on reading that - Do they really think those sentances represent justice ?!!!

I've seen a fair bit about this case if it is the one i am thinking about. IIRC that link doesn't even tell 1/10th of what they and others did to her.

So, wee.. For the uneducated; what does caustic soda do to your skin? Is that what Mr Durden uses on Fight Club?

You are joking. They are eligible earlier than that. Isn't it after a third of the sentence that they are eligible? And they will have done time on remand.

You make a good point, I was just thinking about the fact it can get fairly fricking nasty up there when there is a blow in town and it's a touch harder than the Solent to swim.

That'll be them out by next Wednesday then, and into the arms of some lottery funded piss weed.

It's a very strong akali with similar effects to an acid, effectively dissolving your skin.

we need the same justice system as in the philipenes (sp?)

Was told not so long ago by a man who moved away from there that they are given 48 hours(or some other ridiculously short time period) to plead innocent and then if they cannot do so, they are taken around the back of the court building and shot.

the justice system over there works in reverse to ours as they are guilty until proven innocent. makes life for the innocent so much easier as they just have to sit back and watch the fker that did wrong try and squirm his/her way out.
