house insurance question.

Hi, had a big leak today. was taking radiator off to decorate behind it and was lifting it off its brackets, (something i have done many times before) and a pipe came away under the floor boards. Have had a plumber round and he says it has been connected by push fit joints instead of soldering. checked my building and contents insurance and unfortunately i don't have accident cover. It's made a real mess of living room where the ceiling gave way. plumber didn't think i did anything wrong i.e being forceful. Do you think the buildings insurance will cover this or will it fall under accidental damage and not payout?

Why not ask the insurance company, they're the only one whose opinion will count.

it's through the post office, so they said the underwriters will be in touch within 24-48 hrs. Then anyones guess how long until an assessor can come. Have a young baby and no living room at the mo. My dad and brother think they will say it comes under accidental damage. Plumber knows a good plaster that he phoned that can come sat so tempted just to get it done myself.
