Obama is constantly Alluding to Lincoln and claiming to want to emulate him. As a Leader, Lincoln and his methods are admirable and I commend him Obama for his choice. However, I wonder how he reconciles with the issue of Lincoln on race. It is well documented, by not widely discussed, that he was a proponent of relocating blacks out of the country following slavery's demise.

Why, it is a part of history study in schools here? I just find it ironic.

It is definitely ironic. Perhaps too ironic.

Rather appropriately for this thread, that's what he would have needed to do.

Maybe he is looking at the other million things he liked about Lincoln rather than the one he disagrees with.

It is a true historical fact. I just find it ironic in this context.

Hmmm. What happened to Lincoln? scratchchin

There's a good chance Obama will end up like Lincoln.

That is what I believe as well. As I pointed out in my opening post, there is much about Lincoln to be commended and about Obama for emulating him.

Lincoln's comments were always tailored to his audience and his arguement wasn't about one race was better than the other, just that they both disadvantaged each other in certain circumstances...

Are you referring to something spiritual or an assailant?

I daresay it's a harder thing to accomplish in this day and age... The secret service are pretty serious these days!
