Can anyone recommend anywhere half decent for lunch near Manchester Piccadilly station?

A friend of mine is going there tomorrow for a meeting and, having never been before, was hoping for some ideas.

Thanks!

Malmaison hotel is across the road, which is probably a safe bet. There's not many other places around there IIRC (been a while since I was there though).

go down the ramp from the station and keep walking into town, past picadilly square. turn right just before debenhams onto tib street. keep walking until you've just passed the NCP multistorey and are stood at a crossroads.

in front of you is the cedar tree. doesn't look much but does great arabic/lebanese food.

behind and to the right is a place called simple. does what it says on the tin. good simple food.

forward on the right is centro. opposite centro is a small street with a bar called cord. both are great places to have a drink and a read, and also serve bar type food.

if you really want a fantastic lunch, head here:

Shirt is right... This and That is the only place to go. I regularly frequent there in the 4 years I've been working in town.
