Why are Burberry Shares up when they are announcing Job Cuts or am I bein' that there stoopid?
Job cuts are only bad for the employees, great for investors, fewer overheads, hence shares tend to go up after mass redundancies are announced.MilnerR said:

Because fewer overheads means more profit to be distributed to the shareholders- making the shares much more attractive to investors

Burberry have been trying to move all their manufacturing out of the country for the past couple of years, this is a good time for them to close down all the UK factories and blame it on the recesion..........just who they think will be left to buy their tat is no doubt far from their managements mind (no doubt somebody will now post that Chavs buy it....even though we all know they only buy knock offs) http://finance.google.co.uk/finance?hl=en&tab=...
