No Letter E in this thread, pls!

The letter E is the most common letter in the English alphabet. Lets see how far we can go, and test the skills of you wordsmiths - by having a thread in which the letter E is banned. I think there was a book/novel written without using it, which I haven't read and can't remember the name of. If you have read it, don't cheat by referring to it for inspiration!

Obviously I've had to use the letter E to describe the idea for the thread, but lets ban it from below the line. It's not easy! I'll try to kick things off...

I think this amusing discussion will allow us to train our vocabulary. It is difficult thing to do! This small paragraph I am typing now is actually taking so long! It is hard to think of what to say. Can you guys surpass this?
