I have got my banger for sale on ebay and have put my number in the add saying text me or call me for more details......bad idea

Have had somebody texting me about it then strayed completely off topic and talking about me? telling me to have a nice day and things.

I politely text back saying 'Give me a shout if you need to know anything else about the car'

They text back saying 'OK. I might give you a shout 2 find out more about you'

Just out of intrest can you be billed stupid amounts for texting an 079.... number?

Doh!

No, the 079 is a standard orange number so it'll be normal text rate.

If it strays off topic just start ignoring them. No need to be polite with time-wasters.

I never respond to anyone texting to enquire about a car for sale. If they cant afford or be polite enough to make a phone call then I have nothing to gain from speaking to them.

Nothing to gain, apart from selling the car?

Indeed!

Sounds like this chap needs a few new friends...

...simply post his number up on here, also stating you are a 'hot chick, with a Saxo and a playboy bunny tattoo on your butt cheek'.

I'm sure the friendly offers will soon be flowing in his direction.
