Just a quick one.

I have been off work this week and back end of last, docs orders, supplied me with a doctors note which work have had saying I should stay off until the end of the week. I have blood tests and other things booked in for tomorrow but see no reason why I couldnt go back to work Friday as I am feeling much better.

I am told that I am not insured to go back to work if I am off on SSP? Therefore I should stay off until Monday in accordance with note?

Can't find info on this using internet, so inclined to believe this isnt correct?

Any light anyone can shed...

Stay off until the end of the period.

Company would want this as is anything happened whilst you were back relating to that injry/illness they would be in a sticky situation.

Companes I have worked for have stated that you must stay off. Might be different for others though.

Only way you could go back to work before the end of your current sicknote is to get another from your GP saying you are fit to return to work.

If signed off you are not entitled to work during this period by law.

I get our people to get a return to work note off the gp if they feel better and want to come in to work before the sick note runs out. Our insurer does not like people working whilst covered by a sick note.

The simple answer is you can't go in. You will need to see your Doc again so he can authorise your return.
