I was going to buy a laser printer yesterday - best price £73. Price this afternoon, same firm, £107.
Speaking to someone else, Hewlett Packard prices have just (as in right now, today/this week) gone mental - all due to the exchange rate. All the websites are now playing catch-up with their pricing - the google page prices changed before my eyes!
You think we've got cheaper petrol? Not for long.
Virtually everything we buy from overseas is priced in dollars.
Gas, petrol, chinese tat, everything from outside europe is $.
20 years ago I think we should have kept the manufacturing sector, instead of going for the easy option - profiting from financial smoke and mirrors and buying in cheap chinese tat instead of making it here.
Why don't we make 'stuff' any more?

A lot of US based suppliers are putting their prices up without much warning. HP is one of them.

I used to have a lot of fun working in factories and warehouses! I started working in offices for more money, not more fun.

Another example, Nikon have put up their prices by about 10 to 15% due to the exchange rate.

The pound is worth nothing anymore thanks to manipulative bankers and investors who get away with murder. No one is being held responsable!
