So when everyone's driving about in their hydrogen powered cars the demand for petrol will drop...as no-one's using it anymore the price will drop...therefore the price of petrol cars will drop....

this is how I've just convinced myself I will be able to afford something aston ferrari-ish in years to come.

of course, it could do the exact opposite what with petrol becoming scarce = costs WAY more.

But let's not think about that. Good times ahead!!

People will still use petrol. Hell, you can make petrol cars run on alcohol with some timing and other modifications, so our cars will never completely be shut off.

Just stock up on motor oil. wink

Yup, most cars can run on ethanol with a simple remap and a fuel pump that can deal with the slightly corrosive nature of it. yes Older cars will need to have natural rubber fuel hoses and o-rings replaced with synthetic and worst case you might need to up the injector size somewhat, but that's pretty much that's all that's to it.

The Otto-cycle internal combustion engine will never die! biggrin
