Copied verbatim. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I mean, at least they're realistic but it would be nice to aspire to something a bit greater than being a shop assistant - I working[sic] in PC World

I suppose at least they're not aspiring to be on the dole...
There was a wall display at one school I used to teach in - primary aged kids, so aged 10 and under. It was on "people who help others".
One lad had said his dad was a bus driver, drawn a little picture of a bus, and said his dad helped people get where they wanted to go.
The next lad had just drawn a stick man, labelled as "Gary's dad". In the next "how does he help people?" box, it simply said - "Downloads games"!

Yes, but bus driver, train driver, astronaut, that sort of thing has a sort of romance when you're a kid! Working in Foot Locker? Aftershave maker? These kids will be 11, 12 at most so I think their ambitions will generally be guided by what their parents do.

I probably wanted to be Captain of the Enterprise but at least I was thinking big
