Hy Folks !!! Good day to everybody !!! Has anyone heard of wingsuit base jumping? Well, for those who have never heard here is a video that better than words the pictures say it all, is breath-taking.
Video - http://ac-investor.blogspot.com/2008/12/pure-adren... Throughout history there have been many Base jumpers, but unfortunately, many of them have died. One of those pioneers was Dwain Weston, the first to introduce the stunts in this sport. He died during an extreme stunt in 2003 when calculating the distance wrong with the bridge to be overcome. Dwain was a milestone for many people, who were impressed with their jumps and followed in their footsteps.

Problem is they are going over 100 mph and landing is not safe. I'm not actually sure if anybody has accomplished it or not but I jump (not basejump) quite a bit and there are a lot of guys getting into the wingsuite thing lately but they're not landing w/o chutes that's for sure.

Base jumping is a deadly sport man. That site's a list of all basejump fatalities...
Totally stunning,
there is nothing more needed to be said.

This is probably the closest thing to humans actually flying because they're not using anything besides the suit they're wearing. Skimming cliff walls hundreds of feet in the air while going 100+ mph is insane. It's not really a sport, more like a recreational activity. It's also not new besides changes to the suit, but it's still pretty damn cool.
aussie husband and wife hold the record for longest flight
they are an amazing couple and sooooooooooo cool
seen a few bits of film for them

As i've said on the other 15 threads about this...
It's not "flying" unless they can go back up to where they started from.
Its falling. Stylishly, but still falling.
And well, the deserve all they get tbh.
I just really wish my NHS money wouldn't be used to patch someone up who cocked up their jumping off a cliff for a rush hobby.
Hey ho...each to their own.

There was a video a couple of years ago of a nutter who achieved level powered flight with one of these winged suits plus a mini jet engine strapped to each ankle.
