Found a box of old tapes that had been in storage, a bit dusty but played perfectly well. Lots of home made compilation tapes and late night John Peel. The sound seemed much warmer and open than CDs, althought that could easily just be nostalgia. The only shocking thing is that I am still listening to some of the same stuff 15 years later.

Still got them in most of my tractors - I'm 'sweating' my assets apparently. Anyone still use 8 - Track? Interceptor owners maybe? There would lie my undying respect

I had an eight-track radio - not in an Interceptor though, 'twas a Triumph 2000 back in 1970.

ETA: Have still got a twin-track cassette player, but does not get played with these days.

i owned a 1996 Hillman Superminx ledsled once. One day it wouldn't start and so I got the starting handle out, confident from the knowledge of how to grip it correctly to prevent a broken thumb in the event of a backfire.

Being what it was, my Rootes '66 ledsled had been lowered a bit (well, about 6" out of the suspension and 6" out the roof, to be honest). As a consequence, I managed to remove all of the skin from all for knuckles on the tarmac on my first attempt at cranking- the handle wouldn't even go round without mt (now profusely bleeding) hand on it!
