Got a new client today, four year contract which should keep us ticking along nicely, result!

Hope there's some similar happy news out there

Bought a cheap flat.

Bought 2 cheap cars.

Negotiated a better "deal" with one of my clients.

Finally decided to close my salon down, which I had been very reluctant to do as people assume you have failed if you close in a "boom" time.

Didn't get Zavvi gift vouchers for christmas. smile

Got made redundant, negotiated a massive payout in comparison with the amount of time I was employed there.

Bought my opt-out 'company' car outright, bought a fancy new laptop, buying another bike next weekend.

Got a new job with a 10% payrise with a much more financially stable company.

It's all good, so far.

Chap, some people may not be enjoying either the boom you are, your gloating or the current situation.

And no, she's not a prick. Bit of a mentalist, yes, but not a prick.

Fair point, well made chap, although the point of the thread was meant with all the best intentions, nice to hear some good news in dark times.

In fairness I probably worded my reply to harshly but the quote of "piss off" kinda irked me

Unlike our ex-chancellor, I've been prudent through the years of plenty and should be able to sit out (if necessary) these years of famine, chasing my non-work ambitions for a while.

Sorry if I've offended anyone - it was meant as a tongue in cheek remark - this is the P&P, not the Christian Union.

I messed up my pay claim form in December and didn't get paid. Scrimped and was tight all month, spent next to nothing. So next Friday, when I'm paid, I'm being paid for everything from the 15th of November up till now. Which should result in my biggest pay cheque ever, and becoming the richest I've ever been.

Bear in mind I'm talking ex-student levels of richness here... This "huge" pay cheque should see me out my overdraft, and possibly into 4 figures of positive money!
