It was great. Firstly got to park right outside shop in empty row of parent and child spaces(.....)

Very reminiscent of when I lived in Germany. Got slightly confused about the layout - rather random!

Good cold meats selection - and real ham - none of this reformed cr%p. Lovely selection of fresh fruit and veg. Including some of the hugest pais I have ever seen. And they taste good too.

Very cheap - even on branded goods such as carlsberg.

Staff helpfula nd friendly and I got id'd. Which of course deserves a mention as I am getting on for 40 (ish)

Lidl is superb and the fruit and veg is often fresher than my local Sainsbury's.

I say let the snobbery continue as if the Waitrose Mafia lose their inhibitions and enter the biscuity world of Lidl, they'll cotton on and inflate the prices.

For my monet Netto are ste.

Wine on offer once was good - Oxford Landing or Lindemans Bin 65 less than £4.

Now £6 plus!

As for groceries I fail to see why there are hordes of penny pinching Poles in ours (Rugby) as the range is non existant and the prices are Tesco level.

yikes

How many is that then...

I've just got a new coffee machine (either from Lidl or Aldi - I can't remember!)

Bean to cup filter machine with a timer in s/steel. 35 quid.

Can't go wrong. thumbup

Please try to remember which! I want one biggrin, but there isn't a Lidl nearby. Aldi, on the other hand, is just around the corner.

Just think how much continental chocolate that would have got you at Aldi or Lidl? They do sell remarkably good chocolate lick

That's the one. Sent my wife in to get it - hence my ambivalence about location & costings wink

Got to say - it's a bargain.

Works a treat - got it Sat, and have used about 500g of beans through it (it's barely cooled down since we got it hehe)

Only thing to watch out is the "slidey bit" (note technical terms) that shutters off the grinder when brewing - you have to remember to reset it before next use (slide a lock across) but I'm a muppet and have forgetten a couple of times, and hence brewed a large pot of warm water rolleyes

So, operator error aside - highly recommended wink

My auntie won a 3 minute trolley dash in her local Netto.

She managed to fill two and a half trolleys of Netto's finest goods.

The prize was worth £8.13!!!!
