I posted this in the jobs section of the site, but got bugger all response, so I might as well throw it open the puns, rants and general smart arsery of P&P:

Ok, I'm in the happy position of being able to go anywhere in the world, in terms of personal commitments, for work. Obviously I need a visa for anywhere outside the EU.

I have a bit over 2 years of recruitment consultancy experience, covering white collar construction and later IT, including head hunting and lots of business development, and plenty of other sales besides that. My first choice would be recruitment but open to other roles as well. If it's relevant I have a BSc Economics, and I'm really clever.

Native English speaker, I can get by in French but not enough to hold down a job with French as the main working language.

On the downside we're in the middle of the biggest global recession in living memory, but hey ho.

So where would you go and why?

I've lived in Australia and New Zealand, and fun as it was not keen to go back there. I was very keen on Hong Kong but they're suffering a lot from the banking problems at the moment, so I'm looking at other options as well.

Never been to Dubai but it does have some appeal.

Open to anything and everything else.

Well I've considered renting my entire flat I've worked for all my life out and use the money to live in a cheaper corner of the world. Vietnam or somewhere in the Far East. I could pay my mortgage & live like a king until this storm blows by.

Depends what you've got I suppose.

Don't own any property. I've got about enough money to get somewhere and get established, but not enough to be living high on the hog even in Vietnam. Nice idea though. I do need to work somewhere.
