So today
- The two studio presenters as annoying as ever- especially the fat bearded one!! Had the cheek to lean his fat ass on the Imprezza P1's bonnet.
- Tested Voice Recognition of a CLS to a Fiesta... when stationary. For f**ks sakes surely you would take road noise etc into account.
- Rather than saying the new iDrie is much improced (as most people know), they dragged the point out over a slow 5 minutes which dragged on and on.
- The paintball Megane test, Why, why, why. dull idea.

On the plus side the race of champions was interesting.

Put Tif back on Top Gear and all would be right in the world! Other than him and maybe VBH 5th is a bit rubbish! She's a member on here I believe too!

Well I reckon top gear is rubbish, fifth gear used to be good when tiff was on, but now they are copying top gear with inane brain dead humour. Does anyone really want to see caravans or cars being dropped from cranes etc, not me, some intelligent incisive motoring news would be good. I have given up on them all, but thats just me, I am 42, about 32 years too old for the market they are aiming at!!!

The Megane feature was trying to copy the SLK/Boxster feature on Top Gear, however with a smaller budget.

Everyone knows the i-drive was pants but a bit better, no need to make a feature.

Race of Champions coverage was pretty ok.

The fuel test was just a bit dull.

I thought the fuel test was good, although more appropiate if it was on a performance diesel engine it was tested on, and they should of stuck some chip fat in to see the performance difference on that. Would like to see the same test with different petrols derivatives too like LPG etc.

Megane review was totaly stupid and pointless, give up with the gimmicks and just review the thing!

Race of champs was good too.

It's not been the same since Vera died. Poor Jack doesn't seem to know what to do with himself.

Both TG and FG remind me of "Top of the Pops" in the early 80s. It was rubbish but you watched on the off chance that there might be something good on it.

Those PHers who aren't old enough to have watched TOTP in the early 80s will have to take my word for it.

Because it is something Top Gear would do, apart from they would have a £250,000 budget to do it as oppose to £25.

I thought Redd Pepper's voice was unbelievable, I thought he put that voice on for voice over work, but no, he speeks like that all the time.

I usually find Top Gear entertaining, though not really a car program. Fifth Gear reminds me of Top Gear in the old days. If they all had beards and drove caravans, it would be a more realistic portrayal. Jumpers too, stripey jumpers.

Very dull - who really cares about relative performance of voice recognition?

Yes, and was a pretty rubbish comparison. The chap had been able to work out the basic logic/control of the i-drive so obviously he was going to be quicker the second time round. banghead

Yup, what a complete waste of time, and presumably some damage to the bodywork.

Because it's usually not that bad. They even dared to call it the 'speed' episode...

Surely this should be a GG topic. There's already a thread over there about last night's show.

The problem with Fifth Gear is all the presenters are basically unlikeable.
