As the title says, is there a online registry of who owns what?
(Nothing vital just intrigued).

I thought the person who holds the license is on a plaque on top of the entrance.

What about the ones owned by large chains?...I think the name on the door is just the licence holder for that establishment...

I would have thought the local licencing officer might have that information.

The brewery probably own it, either that or Punch Taverns might. They seem to own a shed load of pubs! (8000+)

Get completely battered and smash the place up, see who bars you.

If not him, he should at least be able to tell you who does own the pub if you ask nicely.

Won't the physical building owner just be listed at the Land Registry?

Become an insurance salesman. Sell them some really cheap insurance. Cancel it on some technicality. Burn the pub to the ground. Then read the local newspaper. "In a tragic fire the pub owned by...."

throw a brick through the window.

when the bill arrives, the owner's name should be at the bottom.

Landlord reckons he owns a pub.

Personally I think it's a sham front for his paedophile ring in the childrens play area

Well it will either be

Brewery owned but managed

Brewery owned but Tenanted ( i.e. the tenant rents it) and either tied for beer and soft drinks or just tied for beer

Or owner run and owned (rare these days)

100,000 licenses in the uk 65,000 pubs and circa 5-7000 privately owned and falling

The easiest way is to ask or failing that see who supplies the soft drinks, ie are they all coke ( CCE products Coke, fanta etc etc) or Britvic products ( pepsi, rwhites lemonade, ame, aquilibra)

If it’s a mix of all then its probably privately owned if its not its probably brewery owned

I'd look on the local council website - either under the licencing applications (the data from the recent licence changes may still be on there) or the planning section (this usually shows the owner somewhere)
