It depends on what you are trying to achieve, are you looking for an execution only account or a fully managed portfolio? Your own bank should offer a share dealing service, which is simple to use and usually £10-15 per trade. I've never used an advisory service - no-one cares about your money more than you do. Do your homework, read lots and don't be too eager to jump in.
