We seem to have had a spate of these in our village in the past week or so. Chav/Pikey idiots who drive by late at night and shoot ball bearings and golf balls at car windows. Is this some new kind of craze or are we unlucky to have been plagued by this particular brand of low-life?

I don't think it's new at all.

No, it goes straight through and shatters the screen. Only found out they'd used one as there was a golf ball in the footwell and the chap who owns it doesn't play.

Couldn't you reciprocate by giving them their balls back?

I had it done to my car with a metal ballbearing.

If it had hit someone rather than my car window it would have easily blinded them.

And not golf balls, either.

If they caught hold of them in our village they'd likely disappear into the woods! Nothing like an old fashioned tarring and feathering!

That is outrageous.

One of those could kill you.

Has it been reported at all?? If it goes on on a regular basis, it ought to get an armed response vehicle there.

Although, you can easily buy yourself a catapault for a tenner, and marbles shatter rather than penetrate.

I read it was on the news a few days after mine as ten cars had been done.

To be honest, I was quite glad it hit my car rather than any of who were standing there as i'd just met up with friends and were only about ten metres from the car.

And glad it was a side window too not the rear one else that would have cost me even more money.
