cheap hotel in New York

Hi Guys, anyone know a good, cheap hotel in New York?

I've never been, thinking of going in a few weeks and flights are only £350pp.

If i can find a decent hotel I'll definetly be on my way!

Amsterdam Place(I think) Hotel on Broadway at West 50th.

Clean, cheap and a superb cocktail bar next door.

3 minutes walk from Times Square.

I got mine for just over £250 per person

the chelsea star hotel. Very cheap & an excellent location - kinda out the back of madison square garden

I spent a few nights in the aptly named New Yorker. I hear it has been recently renovated as well.

I think it was next to Madison Square garden and a short walk from Times Square.

What do you consider cheap?

When i went in 2007 i stayed next to Newark Airport, and took the train into the city and back each day, probably took about 25 mins, but was so much cheaper than staying in New York itself, trains ran till past midnight, so i still felt like a was in New York, and you get a free shuttle bus to the train every day.

Cheap i'd say was about £500 for 2 for 6 nights...

Do i need to re-adjust that?!
