Hysterical Daily Mail haters may congregate in the room next door ------------------------------------------------------------->

Simon Heffer had a similar comment in the Telegraph a few days ago. There is no provision for any country to leave the Euro and the financial markets will pounce on any country that tries to, but in the end it may be the least worst option for some.
As commented in a thread yesterday some Germans are already refusing Euro notes which weren't printed in Germany.

If that's the case, I doubt they would like the design for a British euro note I submitted to the mint depicting a Spitfire pilot shouting 'Tally-ho evil krauts, this is for bombing my grandads greehouse!' whilst strafing Hitler with bullet holes in a swastika pattern as he screams 'AIIIIEEEEEEE!!!!!!' whilst dying.

I'm a little uncomfortable with this 'PIIGS' term, especially when used by a notoriously right wing toilet paper like the daily mail. I'm sure they quite like bagging up what they would consider'lesser europeans' with a term like this.
Reading further on in the article! "The PIIGS will then find their economies grow even more shaky" I dont think Im being paranoid here but sounds like hidden racism. They know what they are writing...

But OK when quoted in the Financial Times, eh...?
