So it seems our esteemed leaders at Birmingham City Council have decreed that apostrophes are to be removed from road signage; apparently in the name of consistency...
Er, how is the incorrect use of our language consistent?
Consistent with the idiots who don't know how to use them, that's for sure!

If you had heard the moron on Sky News a little while ago, councillor something or other, it becomes apparent that the true reason for this silliness is that he doesn't know how to use apostrophes himself.
His justification was that apostrophes have only been in use since the 1700s and are therefore a recent introduction.
He then went on to ask if those who supported the correct use of the English language wanted us to use spellings from the Doomesday (sp?) book?........Total and utter plank!
How long before the use of apostrophes is removed from the national curriculum? Eejits the lot of 'em!

I live in Bishop's Stortford, but always remove the ', due to so many websites struggling with it.
