French Unemployment Benefit versus Savings

Been Googling but can't find an answer...!
In France, as in this country, if you have savings, you are not entitled to unemployment benefit. Does anyone know what the threshold is, i.e., how much you have to have saved, for the French to say "non" to giving out unemployment benefit?
My (not very bright) sister-in-law is married to a Frenchman and between them they're still unable to figure it out for themselves!
