Varnishing lounge floor.

One of my jobs coming up is to re sand and varnish the pine floorboards in our lounge.

Any recommendations as to the best clear varnish to use folks?

The varnish we have down at present is a matt/silk type finish which I prefer.

I would go for a water base varnish - drys quick with no smell.

Osmo hardwax oil. I did our lounge with it last year and couldn't recommend it more. Easy to apply with a lovely finish that enhances the wood grain brilliantly. if you have good boards it'll look much nicer than varnish IMHO.
