Getting into Machester City Centre

I've cause to go to Manchester tomorrow, meeting someone at the SW of the city and then I imagine bussing or tramming it in - is there a bus or train link from the outer ring M60 motorway?

I've tried looking at the Metrolink site, but it's only got route lines a la the Underground, rather than an overall view of the city - and Google MAps shows nothing outside the centre...?

Why not just take the car in, it's usually free parking on a Sunday......

You can catch the Manchester airport 'express' into Manchester Piccadilly. By the time you have parked up and got to the station, you would be better served driving straight in on the M56/A5103

Watch out for the speed cameras and mobile set-ups - prevelant on the weekend
