American or British - whose side are you on?
Discussion
It is 1776 and you are a British colonist living in British New England. Your family had been in Britain since the time of the Saxons. You came to the Colonies looking for adventure and the chance to make some money. You work hard and are beginning to become prosperous. You own a nice house and a fine stable of horses. You now have very little to do with your home country, not since you settled here ten years ago. You do not agree with Britain's politicians, all they want to do is squeeze more and more tax out of you (for not much benefit, as far as you can see). You are amazed to hear that a war has broken out between the Colony and the government.
You have to choose a side - Britain or the Colonies. What do you do?

Are these the same taxes required to pay for the war that actually let you have the ground you live on?
No, you cleared the land yourself and fought off the Indians yourself (sorry, Indians...)Bushmaster said:

Interesting that most PHers so far would prefer being American than British.
NOT Really as BOTH sides were Brits
Something our colonial cousins usually overlook, thankfully the John Adams program is fairly accuarate with Accents (although still too many "American ones creep in)

So Colonies for me as the King was a Nutcase back then
