EBAY and feedback...
Discussion
I bought an item before Christmas.Instand payment on my part..It was delivered quickly well packaged as described. I have teh seller top marks and a nice little message on his feedback.
He's not given me any feedback at all. I contacted him asking why...No response.
Bit annoying. Should I go whinging to Ebay.
It's annoying isn't it. Have a look at their history - sometimes they are simply people who never leave feedback for anyone, others do it in lumps every few weeks. Some are newbies who don't know what to do or how to do it. And some are simply lazy tossers.
In the days when I did eBay I would ask them once or twice, then have to leave it.

I had this once - seller took ages to leave feedback so I contacted them and asked them politely to leave some as I didn't have much at that time and was trying to build it up. Feedback was left almost immediately after that. Some sellers are just very busy and can forget easily as they have so many transactions to deal with. Just ask nicely and you'll probably get what you want.

I think that now the eBay feedback system is so biased towards the buyer, many sellers don't bother leaving feedback as it's now so meaningless.
Having said that I always try to leave feedback as soon as possible; it is just good manners and gives a more professional impression.
I'm a seller. I send a note with each purchase asking them to leave pos feedback and I'll do the same. You can set it up with auctiva to automatically leave a positive feedback if you receive one. So I leave lots, but only if I get one first.Having said that I always try to leave feedback as soon as possible; it is just good manners and gives a more professional impression.
The OP, I got a negative from someone who didn't even pay so obviously I never sent the item. I complained to ebay and they responded by banning all of my ads for some reason. They didn't remove the negative either. So I don't bother contacting them any more. If you do then you don't know what'll happen, they can ban or suspend you on a whim and there's nothing you can do about it. Obviously that wouldn't happen to you over this feedback thing, more likely you'd just get ignored.

This can be most annoying and nothing to do with eBay, but with Paypal. I've had a bit of a clear out recently so not had much to do with Paypal for a few months. All of my instant payments in the last week were held by Paypal until either 21 days go by, or I get positive feedback. I've emailed a bloke who bought something and heard nowt back so unless he does I have to wait 21 days until it clears.
You can understand this from a security point of view, but annoying none the less.

So all a dodgy buyer has to do is not give feedback, and he gets the payment refunded to his account? It's about time eBay realised there are as many dodgy buyers as sellers, and until that time I'm not selling.
